The project is situated in the newly re-zoned Gowanus corridor, Brooklyn. The site spans over six lots and contains a Mandatory Inclusionary Housing requirement. The site owners own a near-by lot and so the design team, along with the owners chose to transfer the MIH component onto this other site in order to develop St. Mark’s as an all condominium building. Sustainable elements included are extra-insulated exterior walls with high-efficiency windows, energy efficient HVAC systems and plumbing fixtures, along with rooftop solar panels systems and LED lighting throughout the building.
